Ball Joints KGL

Schmalz has developed KGL Ball Joints for the secure handling of work pieces with sloping surfaces with the aid of large-size suction pads or suction plates.

These mounting elements are able to handle large sheets of materials (such as wood or sheet metal) which may sag when lifted, due to the flexible mounting of the KGL the premature pulling-off of the sheet due to one-sided forces is prevented.

Design features:

  • Ball and socket made of galvanised steel or stainless steel
  • Ball and socket with O-ring seal to prevent vacuum leaks
  • Deflection (max.) 15°

Features:

  • Fully flexible mounting of suction pads and suction plates
  • Good adaptation to work pieces with sloping surfaces
  • Sealed ball-and-socket joint with vacuum-tight seal
  • Safe handling
  • Low centre of flexure
  • Minimum wear on the suction pad when it is placed on a sloping surface
